1. Seller and scope
This collection is an extension of Tranquil Bed & Furniture Factory (Pty) Ltd. Contact: sales@tranquilfactories.co.za, +27 67 488 2005; showroom: 34 Andries Street, Wynberg, Sandton. These frame-specific terms supplement the seller disclosures, privacy information and general terms displayed by Tranquil’s main store. Mandatory consumer rights take precedence over any inconsistent term.
2. Wooden structures only
Products are assembled, unfinished wooden frame structures, not complete furniture or downloadable CNC files. Foam, fabric, upholstery labour, cushions, mattresses, accessories and additional pictured items are excluded unless expressly included in the written order. Images are design references; the agreed written configuration governs what is supplied.
3. Specifications and quotations
Customers must confirm product reference, quantity, dimensions, board material and thickness, configuration and intended use before ordering. Alternative sizes, custom changes and unconfirmed specifications require a written quotation. No load rating, moisture resistance or material grade is claimed unless expressly supplied for the product.
4. Prices and payment
Prices are in South African rand. The applicable tax, delivery cost and full order total must be shown before you commit to payment. A quotation must state its validity period and supplied configuration. Use the authorised Tranquil checkout or the payment instructions on a verified written quotation.
5. Order acceptance and production
An enquiry, selection or automated receipt is not confirmation that an order has entered production. Tranquil must confirm the specification, total price and delivery or collection arrangements. For custom work, any deposit, balance and cancellation conditions must be agreed in writing before payment. No blanket non-refundable deposit applies.
6. Delivery and collection
Delivery charges, access needs, unloading arrangements and the promised dispatch window must be agreed before payment. Customers should provide accurate contact and address information and report problems promptly. Statutory consumer rights are not limited by a short reporting deadline. Tranquil must communicate delays and agree a lawful remedy.
7. Cancellations and returns
Eligible online purchases may be cancelled within seven days after goods are received under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act; applicable exceptions include goods made to the customer’s specifications or clearly personalised. For eligible cooling-off returns, the customer may bear the direct return cost and refunds are due within the statutory period. Standard designs made after an order are not automatically custom or personalised goods. Advance-order cancellations and any reasonable cancellation charge must comply with applicable law.
8. Defects and consumer rights
Nothing in these terms excludes rights under the Consumer Protection Act or other applicable South African law. Where its six-month implied warranty applies, consumers may choose a repair, replacement or refund for defective or non-compliant goods, subject to the Act. Custom goods retain applicable defect remedies. Contact Tranquil with the order details and a description of the issue.
9. Care and finishing
Store unfinished structures dry and protected. Use a competent upholsterer and suitable materials. Alterations, misuse or damage after delivery will be assessed on the facts; they do not automatically cancel unrelated statutory rights. Confirm suitability for commercial, wet-area or unusually heavy use before ordering.
10. Privacy and disputes
Use the contact details above for order concerns, returns and privacy requests. Personal information is used for legitimate enquiries, order fulfilment and legal obligations. Unresolved disputes may be referred to the appropriate consumer body or court. These terms are governed by South African law without restricting mandatory consumer protections.
